Your confidentiality when answering a survey
Effectory takes confidentiality very seriously. This means you can give honest feedback knowing your responses are protected and never traced back to you as an individual.
Why confidentiality matters
Trust is the foundation of meaningful feedback. When you share your views, you deserve the certainty that your answers remain confidential.
- Trust and openness: Knowing your responses are confidential gives you the freedom to be honest. This trust encourages open and constructive communication.
- Unfiltered insights: Because you can speak freely, your organisation receives more genuine input. These unfiltered insights help identify blind spots, address challenges, and drive positive change.
- Ethical responsibility: Beyond legal requirements, Effectory has an ethical duty to protect your privacy. Safeguarding your data is not only a rule, it’s the right thing to do.
Did you know? My Effectory prevents your organization from uploading sensitive personal data of their employees, such as religious beliefs or ethnicity. If a coordinator tries to add this kind of information, the platform immediately issues a warning. This helps ensure surveys only contain appropriate and relevant data.
What confidentiality means for you as a participant
- Your individual answers are never shared: Your employer cannot see who responded or how you answered.
- Only group results are reported: Results are shown as averages or group scores. If fewer than five people in a group respond, no separate results are shared for that group.
- Data handled securely: Effectory processes survey data under strict privacy regulations to make sure it stays protected.
Who can see your team's results?
Results in My Effectory are access-based. This means only people who are meant to see a specific team’s results are given access, and this access is managed internally by your organisation’s coordinators. The exact access also depends on the type of survey being run, the topics covered, and ultimately on your organization's needs.
Common examples of who may receive access are:
-
Your direct manager, to review team results
-
HR representatives, to analyse organisation-wide patterns
-
Senior leaders, to see aggregated results across larger groups
-
Works council or employee representatives, where applicable
About answers to open-ended questions
Answers to open‑ended questions appear exactly as you wrote them in reports. They are not linked to your name, but managers can read the text itself. To stay unidentifiable, avoid including personal details that point to you or colleagues.
Participation is always voluntary
Participation in Effectory surveys is always voluntary. Your employer cannot force you to take part, and they should not ask if you participated. Our system also never shows your employer whether or not you participated in a survey.
