Troubleshooting your survey invitation link or code
This article concerns survey invitations sent to participants. Coordinator invitations contain different instructions and are addressed in this article.
A survey invitation is the email you receive with your personal link to take part in a survey from Effectory. If you’re not familiar with how survey invitations work, start with the article Understanding your survey invitation.
Common reasons your link or code might not work
-
The link was forwarded to you or someone else.
-
Your email client truncated the link.
-
An access code was copied incorrectly.
-
The survey has closed or been cancelled.
Steps to resolve link issues
-
Verify that the email is addressed to you. The email will normally be addressed to you personally. At the top of each invitation email you will also see a note such as: "This email is intended exclusively for [your email address] and contains a personal link. Do not forward it to anyone else!" If the email is not in your name, get in touch with your internal contact person to request a correct invitation.
-
Copy the entire link. Right‑click the survey link button in your invitation email and choose “Copy link address,” then paste it into your browser’s address bar.
-
Try a different device or browser. Some corporate security settings may block links; using another browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari or Edge) may solve the issue.
- Use the access code. The access code is an alphanumeric string, made of 18 characters, found at the end of your survey link. Survey links always begin with login.effectory.com (for example: login.effectory.com/2FA406-1911-A4P4-42G1-79). If your link doesn’t work, you can go directly to login.effectory.com, enter the 18-character code in the text field, and click Log in to open the survey.
- Check the survey period. If you see a message that the survey is closed, the deadline may have passed.
If none of these steps resolve the problem, contact our Helpdesk providing your name and organisation. Be sure to mention that you are referring to a survey invitation.
