Results dashboard: Limited results for small groups

To protect the confidentiality of respondents, Effectory only reports group scores separately when a group has at least five participants and at least five respondents.

Groups that do not meet these thresholds do not receive full group-level results. However, groups with three or four respondents receive limited insights in the results dashboard. These insights give the group an initial view of its results while continuing to protect respondent confidentiality.

Why are limited results provided?

Small groups can still benefit from seeing an indication of their survey results. Limited results provide a starting point for understanding what is going well and where there may be opportunities for improvement.

To protect anonymity, the dashboard does not show all group-level details for these groups. Instead, it shows a limited set of aggregated insights and, where relevant, results from the higher-level group or other available comparisons.

What can you see?

The available insights depend on the page you are viewing and on the survey setup.

Overview page

On the Overview page, you can see an overview of the group’s:

• Highest scores: the survey questions with the most positive results.
• Lowest scores: the survey questions with the least positive results.

These insights provide a quick indication of the topics that stand out most in the group’s results.

Other Overview tiles or detailed group-level insights may not be available when the group does not meet the minimum reporting thresholds.

Themes page

On the Themes page, you can see the theme scores of the next level above the group.

For example, if you are viewing a small team, the dashboard may show the scores for the department or organisational unit that contains that team. These results help provide context without displaying scores for a group that is too small to report separately.

Scores page

On the Scores page, you can see:

• an overview of the scores for the next level above the group; and
• other available comparisons, depending on the survey configuration.

These comparisons help you interpret the available results in a broader context. The exact comparisons shown may differ between surveys.

What is not shown?

For groups with three or four respondents, the dashboard does not show the full set of group-level results. This means that you may not see:

• complete group-level theme results;
• all group-level question scores;
• score coloring and significance indicators, because individual question scores are not provided;
• reports, which are not available for these groups;
• group-level comparisons that could reveal individual responses; or
• all dashboard tiles and detailed insights available for larger groups.

The results dashboard only displays insights that meet Effectory’s reporting and confidentiality requirements.

How should you interpret limited results?

Use limited results as an initial indication rather than as a complete picture of the group’s results. The highest and lowest scores can help identify topics to discuss, while the results for the higher-level group and other comparisons provide additional context.

When discussing the results, combine the dashboard insights with other sources of information, such as team conversations, manager observations, or follow-up discussions. Avoid drawing conclusions about individual respondents from the results.

Why are these thresholds used?

Effectory applies minimum reporting thresholds to help protect respondent confidentiality and support trust in employee listening. Group results are reported separately only when there are enough participants and responses to reduce the risk that individual answers can be identified.
