Introduction: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

What is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)?

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are fundamental principles that recognize the factual nature of diversity, the deliberate choice of equity, and the proactive action of inclusion.

  • Diversity acknowledges the inherent variety in human characteristics, which is a fact of the world we live in.
  • Equity involves a conscious decision to ensure fairness and impartiality in providing opportunities.
  • As an action, inclusion involves intentionally creating environments where everyone feels valued and can contribute fully.
Recognizing diversity as a reality, choosing equity as a guiding principle, and actively practicing inclusion are integral to fostering positive and thriving workplaces and communities.

Why is DEI relevant in today's world?

Limited diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts in today's competitive business world can lead to a 33% drop in revenue growth and increased innovation risks. Furthermore, companies risk losing top talent as 86% of millennials and 85% of Gen Z job seekers prioritize DEI commitment.

DEI isn't just about economics; it's about ethics and humanity. A study shows that 78% of people believe organizations should prioritize diversity and inclusion because it's good for business and the right thing to do.

Why is Effectory introducing the DEI solution?

Effectory designed the DEI solution to help organizations kickstart their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Many organizations aim to enhance their DEI efforts, but many struggle to determine where to begin and how to prioritize their goals.
Even though 68% of organizations aim to enhance their diversity initiatives, 62% struggle to identify their starting point and prioritize DEI goals. The challenge involves two main aspects:

  • Adopting a robust data-driven approach for addressing DEI concerns
  • Helping organizations overcome the complexities of gathering the right (insightful) data and implementing practical solutions
Effectory's DEI solution offers data-driven insights that act as a roadmap to overcome these challenges. It helps organizations gather meaningful data and implement effective solutions. You will

  1. Get an insightful baseline by conducting the DEI Scan: You get a clear starting point for understanding the current state of your DEI and measuring progress.
  2. Access actionable data: Access your My Effectory dashboard to identify strengths and areas for improvement for better DEI focus
  3. Measure progress: Leverage a set of resources designed to help you take concrete next steps in your DEI journey

What does the DEI solution consist of?

  • DEI Scan: 14 fixed questions included in the DEI Index and the possibility to add all or some of the 30 additional questions from the DEI Deep Dive module
  • DEI Manager Toolkit: you will receive a manager toolkit once the DEI Scan is completed (only if all 14 questions of the DEI Index were asked). The toolkit is designed to help organizations and specifically managers facilitate significant behavioral change, promote inclusiveness, and enable practical follow-up steps. It is available for download (in English, Dutch and German) in the results dashboard after completion of the DEI Scan. The toolkit focuses on the 14 questions of the DEI Index.

Additionally, Effectory is offering DEI Advice & Support. You can receive expert guidance from our dedicated People Strategy Consultants through a DEI results presentation and/or tailored support/workshops. This is available at additional costs.
