Ensuring your survey access is secure

This article concerns survey invitations sent to participants. Coordinator invitations contain different instructions and are addressed in this article.

A survey invitation is the email you receive with your personal link to take part in a survey from Effectory. If you’re not familiar with how survey invitations work, start with the article Understanding your survey invitation.

Why security matters

Survey invitations contain personal links that grant access to your questionnaire. Sharing this link can compromise confidentiality or allow someone else to complete the survey in your name.

Best practices for secure survey access

  • Keep your personal link private. Do not forward your invitation or share the link with colleagues.

  • Verify the sender. Legitimate Effectory invitations come from trusted domains (e.g., @effectory.com). If you’re unsure, contact your HR team or our Helpdesk.

  • Watch for phishing attempts. Effectory will never ask for your password or personal data via email. Be cautious of emails requesting sensitive information.

  • Access the survey only through trusted devices. Use a secure device and network; avoid public computers or unsecured Wi‑Fi.

What to do if you suspect fraud or misuse

  1. Do not click suspicious links. Report the email to your organisation’s IT or HR department.

  2. Notify the Effectory Helpdesk immediately with details of the suspicious email.

  3. Request a new invitation. Our Helpdesk can issue a new invitation if necessary.
