How to repair a broken group structure
When you open a group structure in My Effectory, you may sometimes see a warning message that says that one or more levels are missing. This means that one or more of the variables (or columns) from your employee data used to set up this structure has been deleted. As a result, one level of the group structure is missing and needs to be fixed.
Why does this happen?
Group structures are built on the variables (columns) in your employee data, such as department, location, or team. If one of these variables is removed from the data, any structure that uses it will lose an entire level.
My Effectory warns you before deleting a column that is in use in a structure. If you continue and remove it, the “Your structure is missing levels” warning will appear the next time you open an affected structure.
How to fix it
You have two options for fixing a group structure when you see this warning:
-
Restore the employee data column
-
Go back to your employee data and recreate the column that was removed, including its data, by importing a new file (recommended).
-
This option is useful if the variable was deleted by mistake.
-
-
Repair the group structure
-
Open the structure and click Fix structure.
-
The platform will show you which level is faulty. You can then choose to replace it with another variable or remove it.
-
Once saved, the structure will update and the warning will disappear.
