How to publish changes in the Question Library
Question Management is temporarily available in read‑only mode. Read more about this update in our latest announcement: Update on Question Management
When to publish changes
Publish the Question Library after you have finished making one or more changes, such as:
- Adding, adjusting or deleting a custom question
- Reordering questions or topics
- Editing a topic
- Changing a translation
- Editing variables
Publishing applies to the whole Question Library, not to an individual change. You can make several changes first and publish once when you are finished. You do not need to publish after every edit. Publishing makes the changes visible in newly created or draft surveys.
How to publish your changes
- Open the Question Library.
- Make the changes you need. → Your changes are saved as updates to the Question Library.
- When you have finished making all your changes, select the publish option in the Question Library. → Your Question Library changes are published for new and draft surveys.

Note: Saving your changes and publishing the Question Library are separate actions. You can save several changes and publish them together once you are finished.
What happens after publishing?
New and draft surveys use the published Question Library. This means they can use the questions, translations, topics, and question order included in your published changes.
Surveys that are already running are not affected. Respondents continue to see the questions that were included when the survey was started.
Tip: Group your Question Library updates together and publish them all at once.
