This privacy statement applies to the Effectory support page. It outlines which data we collect from you when you make use of Effectory support.
Information on the agreements made with your employer about how we handle personal data, and information on how to exercise your privacy rights can be found under the ‘Confidentiality Guaranteed’ button on the introduction page of the survey you were invited to. This is the website you open after receiving a letter or e-mail from Effectory asking you to participate in an online survey.

Who is responsible for the Support Page?
Effectory is responsible for processing personal data collected through the abovementioned points of contact. Effectory secures your data according to industry best practices.
What data do we collect from you?
The quantity and type of personal data that we receive from you on our website depends on the information you provide via our contact pages and through registration processes on our websites. Effectory therefore processes your personal data because you have provided it to us yourself. The personal data that you actively provide to Effectory is stored in European data centers (via Zendesk, please see below). The personal data that we usually process to help you with a request is:
First name and surname
Name of the organization you're working for
Other personal data that you actively provide, for example your telephone number in an application, in correspondence or by telephone, or personal data included in the attachment to your email
When reaching out to the Effectory help desk by phone, we may typically ask for additional personal data to verify your identity, before proceeding with your request. Additionally, we may request your team/organization name, and function. The nature of the personal information that we collect from you or that we process therefore may vary.
How is your data used?
We use your data to process your requests, send you relevant information and to answer your questions.
Data that you provide to us passively by using the Effectory support page is only collected anonymously by Effectory. We do this in order to improve the quality, security and user-friendliness of the website.
Data that you provide actively to Effectory, such as personal data, is only used in order to respond to your request and to provide you with information about Effectory services, unless we receive your consent to also use your personal information for other purposes. For example, if you send us an email requesting information about Effectory, we will use your email address and the other information you supply in order to fulfil your request.
With whom do we share your information?
We do not share personal data with third parties, unless this is necessary to deliver our services (see below), or if this is a legal obligation.
Where is your personal data stored?
The Effectory support page uses Zendesk, a customer service solution, to help you out with all kinds of requests. The data we collect from you in order to be able to give you a clear and fast answer, will be stored at Zendesk's EU data center location. Zendesk is located in the United States (Zendesk Inc., San Francisco), but the respective data center used by Effectory (and hence the actual location of processing) is in the European Economic Area (Ireland). A data processing agreement has been concluded with Zendesk which complies with the GDPR.
How long is your data stored?
Zendesk will permanently store your data on its servers, until we delete it either manually or through an automated process. For helpdesk operating purposes, we will keep your data up to 2 years after their creation, unless you want to exercise your rights in accordance with the below (under “How can you exercise your rights”). When this retention period expires, your data will be permanently and automatically deleted from Zendesk’ servers. If the collaboration with Zendesk comes to an end, Zendesk will start a deletion process. All your data stored at Zendesk will be deleted within 40 days
Why is your data stored?
The personal information that you provide to Effectory is stored in order to keep you up to date with our services or to contact you regarding the subject of your interest. Regularly Effectory checks to see if information still needs to be stored. If you request your data to be removed, of course this will be done immediately.
How is your data secured?
Effectory is ISO 27001 certified and has an appropriate policy to protect your personal data against loss, abuse, amendment and unintentional destruction. Very limited staff members have access to your data, and those who have are specially trained to safeguard the confidentiality of such information.
How can you exercise your rights?
As a resident of the European Economic Area, you have the following data protection rights:
- If you want to access your personal data, have corrections made to it, have it updated or want to request its removal, you can do so whenever you wish via our request form at https://support.effectory.com/hc/requests/new.
- You can also object to the processing of your personal data, ask us to limit the processing of your personal data or ask us to transfer your personal data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us via our request form.
- Similarly, if we have collected and processed your personal data with your consent, you can withdraw your consent whenever you like. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that was carried out prior to the withdrawal, nor does it affect the processing of personal data carried out on the basis of grounds for processing other than consent.
- You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information. For more information, contact your local data protection authority.
We will respond to requests that we receive from individuals seeking to exercise their privacy rights in accordance with the applicable legislation. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to retain any information in our archives that we consider necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations, settle disputes or enforce our contracts.
