You can extend a running survey in My Effectory. This is useful when you want to boost participation, give teams extra time, or recover from unexpected issues.
Before you start

You can extend a survey up to 2 hours before its planned end time. If there are fewer than 2 hours remaining, no changes can be made.

You can extend the survey more than once.

Only Central, Project, or Local Coordinators can extend surveys. Read more about coordinator roles.

Closed surveys cannot be reopened. Only surveys that are currently running can be extended.
What happens when you extend a survey

The survey end date is updated to the new date and time you select.

Non‑respondents receive an automatic notification email that the survey deadline has been extended.
- Results release phases are not updated automatically. When you extend a survey, you must manually adjust the dates of any configured phases in the Results release settings. This ensures the release of results and related notifications stay aligned with your new timeline.
How to extend the survey period

Log into My Effectory.

Find the running survey in Surveys > All surveys and open it.
> You will see the planned survey period displayed at the top of the page in the survey timeline. - In Survey settings, find the Survey period section and click Extend period on the right-hand side.

Choose the new end date and time and click Apply.

Click Confirm.
The change takes effect immediately. The survey will stay open until the new end date, and non‑respondents will be informed automatically.
